DEBORA MCCLARY, M.D.

Dr. Debora McClary migrated from western Washington state to Phoenix in 2008 so that she and her family could be closer to relatives in Apache Junction. She completed medical school at the University of Washington in 1994, then went on to complete a residency in General Surgery in 1999 and a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery in 2000, both at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

After completing training, Dr. McClary set up practice at Madrona Medical Group, a multispecialty clinic in Bellingham, WA. During her eight years there, she served as Chair of Surgery and sat on the Board of Directors. She was the first colorectal surgeon in a five county area during this time, advancing the area's treatment of colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis and perianal disease. She had a loyal following of patients there, making it difficult to leave. She has published chapters on colorectal cancer and Crohn's disease and given public presentations on colorectal cancer screening & colonoscopy. She is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Colon & Rectal Surgery.
